Forever Chemicals (PFAS): What They Are & Why We Avoid Them

Forever chemicals, also known as PFAS (Per- and Polyfluoroalkyl Substances), are a group of synthetic chemicals widely used in plastics, coatings, textiles, and waterproof materials.

They are called “forever chemicals” because they do not break down naturally — meaning they can persist in the environment for decades and accumulate in the human body over time.

PFAS are commonly found in everyday products such as non-stick coatings, synthetic leather, waterproof fabrics, and low-cost plastic accessories.

Our Commitment: PFAS-Free Materials

At Rocker Duck, we intentionally avoid materials that contain harmful or persistent chemicals. Our wristbands are made using PFAS-free, skin-safe materials, tested to meet internationally recognized safety and textile standards, including OEKO-TEX® certification.
